Community Briefs: Local student to pursue automotive restoration degree

Flagstaff student Matt Edmonds is one of eight national recipients of the Hagerty Education Program scholarship at McPherson College in Kansas. McPherson College is the only institution that offers a four-year bachelor’s degree in automotive restoration.

Hagerty Classic Car Insurance is the world’s leading provider of insurance for collector vehicles. Because the company is so intimately tied to the future of the automotive restoration industry, they support restoration education in high schools and colleges through the Hagerty Education Program at America’s Car Museum.

At McPherson College, Hagerty supports eight scholarships for outstanding MC students pursuing their automotive restoration degrees. In addition, the program has helped provide “gap” funding for expenses such as housing and other living expenses to make internship experiences a more affordable opportunity for MC students.
