“When I woke up this morning, I was being blamed for it,” the host said on Tuesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!. “There are two dozen articles – and thousands of comments online – suggesting that this is a prank – and I am responsible for it. I have to say, it’s disappointing. You play, like 50 pranks and all of a sudden people don’t trust you anymore.”
“Did you ever consider that maybe Dennis was doing voiceover for a new cartoon?” Kimmel suggests, before showing a clip of Daffy Duck voiced by Quaid’s tirade.
Even if Kimmel isn’t behind the video, all signs point to it being a prank. According to TheWrap, the production company behind Quaid’s film Truth has come out saying the meltdown didn’t take place on the set of its film, which wrapped last year.
