Seniors Steven Surrick and Tim McDonald, any of Bensalem, warranted tip honors final month during a Universal Technical Institute’s Top Tech Challenge in Chester County. With a win, any tyro perceived a $2,000 document to Snap-On collection and a tech propagandize was awarded a stocked UTI Snap-On toolbox valued during $10,000.

The informal foe pitted Surrick and McDonald opposite other determined automotive and diesel technicians from roughly 30 other high schools. They competed in tasks like automotive partial and apparatus identifications and other hands-on workshops. The students’ altogether performances were judged by UTI instructors.

“When we were going by a hands-on part, we were saying, ‘wow, is it unequivocally this easy,’ “ McDonald said. “When they pronounced a esteem goes to Bucks County Technical High School we were like, ‘wow, we won.’ “
