Watching YouTube videos regulating Google Cardboard is indeed flattering boring

I was unequivocally vehement this morning when we found out that Google has added support for a Cardboard practical existence headset in any video in a YouTube app for Android.

But when we attempted it out, we was disappointed.

A video of a new Rise of a Tomb Raider game.

It’s fundamentally like sitting on a cot and branch on a TV in a dim vital room.

Cardboard mode isn’t on by default when we start examination a video. You have to strike a 3 dots in a tip right dilemma of a video and daub a Cardboard button.

You have to daub a Cardboard symbol before we can watch a YouTube video on Android in Cardboard mode.

From there, we can postponement a video, rewind, fast-forward, and adjust a volume, by branch your conduct and pulling a symbol on a tip of a headset. You can also pin a shade to a opposite plcae horizontally, permitting we to reason adult a spectator in a some-more gentle position.

Click to recenter.

You cannot, unfortunately, pierce a shade adult or down.

Sometimes we accept notifications while you’re examination a video. No, no, no. we don’t wish to see that. we wish to see a video. we don’t wish to see who only tweeted during me.

Want to hunt for something different? You have to take your phone out of a headset. Same thing if we wish to make a screenshot.

So it’s a start, basically.

I theory it’s improved since we won’t be dreaming by anything outward of a video in your margin of view. It’s some-more immersive in that sense. But it’s not scarcely as immersive as the new 360-degree practical existence videos that we can find on YouTube, and it’s not as interactive as, say, Google Street View on Cardboard.

It’s a new approach to watch immobile video.

And maybe that’s not such a bad thing.

Especially if we can make or buy yourself a headset with a tag we can put around your head, so we don’t need to reason a Cardboard adult to your head. (Note to self: Find one of those online and buy it.)
