Former Nimitz and Baylor basketball star Brittney Griner was arrested Wednesday on allegations of conflict by a Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff’s Office.
The Arizona Republic, citing jail records, reported that Griner, who plays for a WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury, was arrested on guess of conflict and unfinished conduct. Griner’s fiancee Glory Johnson also was arrested on a same allegations, a journal reported.
TMZ reported that military were called to Griner’s home around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving a call about a domestic brawl between a women and that officers celebrated “minor earthy injuries” on both. Citing police, TMZ reported Griner had several cuts and a punch wound while Johnson was draining from a lip.
Citing a military report, TMZ reported there were several people during a couple’s home when they began arguing and a quarrel became physical. According to a report, Griner certified throwing a dog play during a wall, with a fighting commencing thereafter.
Griner, 24, helped a Mercury win a WNBA championship final year, earning All-WNBA First Team honors in serve to being a league’s Defensive Player of a Year.
Johnson, 24, played for a WNBA’s Tulsa Shock final season. She and Griner got intent in August, with their marriage reportedly slated for subsequent month.
